RHIZA Beliefs

God

We believe in one God who exist and three distinct persons: father, son and holy spirit. He has eternally existed as the father, the son and the Holy Spirit. The three are co-equal and our one God.

(Genesis 1:1, 26, 27, 3:22, Psalm 90:2, Matthew 28:19, 2 Corinthians 13:14)

Jesus

We believe that Jesus Christ is the second member of the Trinity and the son of God. He is coequal with the father and Holy Spirit. Jesus live the sinless human life and offered himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all people by dying on the cross. He became flesh to reveal God to humanity and to save us. He rose from the dead after three days to demonstrate his power over sin and death. He ascended to heaven and will return again someday to earth to reign as king.

(Matthew 1:22, 23, Isaiah 9:6, John 1:1-5, Hebrews 4:14–15, 1 Corinthians 15:3-4, Romans 1:3-4, Acts 1:9-11, Colossians 2:9-10, 1 Timothy 6:14–15)

Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is coequal with the father and the son of God. He is present in the world to make people aware of their need for Jesus Christ. He lives in each Christian from salvation and provides Christians with power for a living, understanding of spiritual truth and guidance and doing what is right. He gives every believer spiritual gifts when they are saved. As Christians we seek to live under his control daily.

(Acts 1:8, John 14:16-17, 16:7-13, Galatians 5:25, 1 Corinthians 2:12, 3:16, Ephesians 1:13, 2 Corinthians 13:14, 1 Peter 1:2)

Humanity

We believe that all people were created in the image of God and we’re designed to have a relationship with him. However, all people have sinned and in turn, ruined that relationship with him. Through our own efforts we are incapable of mending that relationship. Salvation is gods free gift to humanity, but we must except it. We can never make up for our sin by self improvement or good works. Only by trusting in Jesus Christ as gods offer of forgiveness can anyone be safe from since penalty. When we turn from our self ruled life in turn to Jesus in faith we are safe. Eternal life begins the moment one receives Jesus Christ into their life by faith.

(Genesis 1:27, Ephesians 2:8 -9, John 14:6, Romans 3:23, 6:23, 5:1, 5:8, 10:9-10)

the Bible

We believe that the entire Bible is the inspired Word of God without error because the writers were moved and inspired by the spirit of God to write those words. All Scripture is God breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training. It is the only book that has the power to transform lives.

(2 Timothy 3:16, 2 Peter 1:20-21, Psalm 119:105, 160, 12:6, Proverbs 30:5, Isaiah 55:11)

Salvation

We believe that the sacrifice of Jesus Christ provides the sole basis for the forgiveness of sin. God freely offer salvation to those who placed their faith in the death and resurrection of Christ as payment for their sin. This personal salvation from the eternal penalty of sin, is provided exclusively by the grace of God on the basis of the atoning death and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ, to be received only through individual faith in his person and redemptive work on the cross, and to be followed with a life characterized by the empowering grace of the Holy Spirit, giving evidence and loving service and adherence to the principles and practices of the Christian faith as set forth in the New Testament.

(Ephesians 2:8-9, John 14:6, Romans 5:1, 5:8, 6:23, 10:9-10)

Baptism

We believe baptism is an outward expression of an inward commitment. It is a declaration to the world that we have receive salvation through Jesus and symbolizes His death, burial and resurrection.

(Matthew 3:16-17, 28:18-20, Acts 2:41, 8:12, Romans 6:4, Colossians 2:12)

Christian Life

We believe all Jesus followers should live a life for Jesus, not themselves. This occurs through obedience to the word of God and daily submission to the Holy Spirit. Apprentices of Jesus should strive to be with Jesus (in His presence), become like Jesus (taking on His character) and do the things that Jesus did (being the ultimate servant).

(John 15:13, 4:24, Romans 8:14, 12:1, Galatians 2:20, Luke 9:23-24, Ephesians 5:1-2)

The Church

We believe the church is the body of Christ, of which Jesus is the head. The members of the Church are those who have placed their faith in Jesus Christ. The purpose of the Church is to glorify God and make him known throughout the world. The Church multiplies itself by raising up leaders and sending them out to start new churches.

(Matthew 28:16-20, Luke 14:23, Acts 12:24)

Eternity

People will exist eternally with or without God. People were created to exist forever. We will either exist eternally separated from God by sin or eternally with God through forgiveness and salvation. To be eternally separated from God is hell. To be eternally and union with him is eternal life in heaven. Heaven and hell are real places of eternal existence.

(John 3:16, 14:17, Romans 6:23, Revelation 20:15, Philippians 2:5-11, Matthew 25:31-34, Matthew 25:41)

Unity

Unity We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in Christ, and the evidence of that unity being shown by how we love one another.

(1 Corinthians 1:10, 12:12, Philippians 2:2, 2 Corinthians 13:11, Philippians 2:3, Ephesians 4:1-32)

Essential vs Non-essential

In addition to essential beliefs, we have liberty and non-essential believes.

Accept the one whose faith is weak, without passing judgment on this beautiful matters… Who are you to judge someone else’s servant? To their own master servant stand or fall… So then each of us will give an account of ourselves to God… So whatever you believe about these things keep between yourself and God.
Romans 14:1, 4, 12, 22

“ I have the right to do anything,“ you say but not everything is beneficial. “I have the right to do anything“ but not everything is constructive. No one should seek their own good, but the good of others.
1 Corinthians 10:23-24
