RHIZA ROOTS

We are all about Jesus

We are unashamed about our love for Jesus. We use our songs, our words and our lives help celebrate who Jesus is and what He did for us. We want to help people be with Jesus, be like Jesus and do the things that Jesus did. We are on a path to see every part of our lives (speech, finances, sexuality, insecurities, fears, triumphs, thoughts, relationships, plans, resources, etc) conformed to the character of Christ. We fight to live a fully surrendered life.

(Galatians 5:20, Ephesians 4:29-32, Luke 9:26)

We love everyONE

All of them! Backgrounds, shapes, colors, sizes, educations, genders, salaries, single, married, young, old, churched, de-churched, unchurched. Every human being has immeasurable worth. If God loves them, we do too. We give honor to those we lead, we work beside and those we follow. Jesus left the 99 for the 1. So do we.

(Luke 15:1-7, 1 Corinthians 13)

We protect unity

Imaginary conversations often deserve real ones. The poisons of gossip, complaining, backbiting, sarcasm, discord, and division are not welcomed here. Nor will they be tolerated.
(Ephesians 4:1-6, Ephesians 4:29-32)

We hold towels

Servants first. At Rhiza leaders focus on holding towels, not titles. When we see a need, we do our best to meet a need. Our attitudes are just as important as our actions. We serve gladly and humbly.

(John 13:1-17)

We go BIG

We serve a big God who wants good things for us. He knows the desires of our hearts and asks us to come to him with them. So we go big, with big dreams, big prayers and big faith.

(Phil 6:6-7, Eph 3:20-21, Psalm 147:5)

We have contagious joy

Whether we feel it that day or not, we choose to bring a Spirit of positive enthusiasm as we do the work of the ministry. We see it as a privilege to serve and so we do so with gratitude in our hearts and with smiles on our faces. No matter if we are introverts or extroverts we choose to display the joy of Christ within us to our crew members and those we interact with.

(Romans 15:13, John 15:11, Galatians 5:22)

We have tenacious
teachability

We never stop learning and growing. We humbly learn from each others strengths and weaknesses. We champion others ideas even when our ideas don’t win. Understanding that none of us have arrived, we seek wisdom from the Holy Spirit, Gods word and specific guides for our lives.

(Proverbs 15:32, Proverbs 1:5, Proverbs 19:29)

We care audaciously

We boldly care for our personal health and the health of those around us. (RPMS-relational, physical, mental and spiritual.) When in doubt, we welcome before rejecting, forgive before judging and love before fearing. We are not afraid to confront each other with grace and truth. We set the table for guests, understanding every environment and interaction is an opportunity to share the love of God. We strive to be hospitality rock stars.

(Mark 12:31, Matthew 22:37-40, Luke 10:25-37)

We multiply ourselves

Jesus multiplied himself by investing in others and sending them out to do the same. The church multiplied itself by raising up leaders and sending them out to start new churches. At Rhiza we follow their example.

(Matthew 28:16-20, Luke 14:23, Acts 12:24)

We keep it real

Come as you are. We put away the masks we think others want to see. God does not shame you. Neither will we. It’s ok not to be ok. With permission, we speak truth in love.

(James 5:16, Acts 5:1-11, Romans 12:1-21)

We don’t do life alone

The first thing that was not good was not sin. Its was that man was alone. We were created by community, for community. We are better together.

(Acts 2:42-47,Genesis 2:18)

We are unconditionally generous

Our God is infinitely generous. We strive to follow His example. We sacrificially give our best, not just whats left, with no strings attached.

(Acts 20:35, Proverbs 11:24-25, John 3:16)
